Carl obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology at University College London where he also completed a PhD in Genetics. He worked in life sciences media as a conference producer and Managing Editor covering genomics, before joining Genomics England where he carried out roles as Senior Industry Communications Manager, Head of Commercial Delivery Operations, and Head of Marketing. Carl now works as Director of Marketing and Communications at Saphetor, the company responsible for the human genome variant interpretation platform “VarSome”. Carl is also a proud member of the ASHG’s Membership Engagement Committee.

Carrie Haverty, MS, CGC

Carrie Haverty MS CGC is VP of Product at Mirvie, leading efforts to develop the Mirvie RNA platform which uses transcriptomics and machine learning to predict complications months before they occur. Carrie is a Board-certified Genetic Counselor having earned her Masters from UC Irvine and her BA in Sociology and BS in Genetics from UC Davis. She started her career working in high risk prenatal care and focused on providing broad access to new diagnostic technologies. Her direct-clinical experience served as the foundation for leading-edge product development and commercialization at Counsyl, Myriad, Miroculus, and Mirvie.

Dr. Lyndon J. Mitnaul is an Executive Director in the Regeneron Genetics Center at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc., in Tarrytown, NY, where he establishes and manages multi-organization, large-scale, diverse, human genetics research collaborations, and education and training initiatives focused on minority communitiesIn 2023, he led the formation of a new initiative, Together for CHANGE™, to increase the number of underrepresented students in STEM, and to significantly increase diversity in genomic databases being studied. 

Aaron Wenger, PhD

Dr. Aaron Wenger is a Senior Director at PacBio, responsible for management of long-read sequencing systems.  He obtained a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University, with a thesis focused on comparative genomics methods to understand gene regulation.  At PacBio, his work has focused on applications of long-read sequencing to identify variation in human genomes and product development to increase the adoption of long-read sequencing.
